I'm Meg, a photographer inspired by real life.

based in Southern california,
A series of black and white portraits showing a person with long hair in various expressive poses.

Some of my favorite photographs are the ones that almost didn't get taken.

The blurry ones. The ones where someone is mid-laugh. The ones that don't feel important at the time, until years later when they're suddenly everything.

My love for documenting life really began after losing my grandpa, Ernest, to Alzheimer's.

I learned something I wish none of us had to: memories can disappear. The stories, the voices, the tiny details you think you'll always remember, they fade in ways you never expect.

That realization changed me. I started documenting everything. The good days, the hard seasons, the first and last times. Not because every moment is perfect, but because every moment becomes part of our story.

My Approach

I notice the moments most people overlook and preserve them honestly. I'm drawn to connection. The quiet in-between moments. The way families naturally exist together.

The story behind Heirloom Nest Photo

A person in a flowing red dress and black cardigan poses against a light-colored wall.

“Nest” honors my grandfather Ernest, his name now lives on as my youngest son’s middle name. The butterfly in my logo represents my grandmother, who taught me to sew and showed me the beauty of creating things meant to last. Together, they shaped my love for heirlooms...objects and memories that carry time, meaning, and story.

Today, as a mother to four boys, I see photography through a quieter lens. The most meaningful moments are rarely staged, they live in the in-between: muddy shoes after playing outside, a child leaning into their parent, quiet laughter after Grandpa spills an inside joke.

My work is rooted in documenting families honestly and gently, honoring the milestones, the ordinary days, the firsts, and the fleeting details that often become the most meaningful over time. Because these photographs don’t just belong to the present moment, they become part of your family’s story for generations to come.
